Registration and creation the dossier at family allowance fund (CAF)
The CAF is an organization that provides social benefits to people in need of financial assistance. In 2008, national funds accounted for nearly € 56.4 billion in social benefits.
These payments correspond to social, family needs, age, health, disability, poverty, etc. In this case, they can relate to taking rental property, buying a house or improving living conditions.
What is the CAF?
CAF is the local representative of the national family allowance fund (CAF), which is nothing more than a branch of French social security for families.
In this area, there are also 123 family allowances for families throughout France. In each department there is at least one cash register. This structure is responsible for supporting families in their daily lives and providing financial assistance to people whose conditions meet the social criteria defined by law.
In addition, each CAF essentially develops collective social activities in the region where it is created. It provides technical assistance or grants to local social actors, such as nurseries, schools, recreation centers, youth and culture, etc.
Housing allowance (ALF or ALS)
This allowance is another benefit that CAF can offer. It is attributed to the renter or owner who pays. This allowance must reduce the excessive costs of renting or investment in housing.
It is intended to help families with low income, but also for the majority of students too.
There are two types of housing allowance:
• Family Allowance (ALF) for caregivers and young families;
• Social housing allowance (ALS), for those who can not benefit from the ALF or the APL. The housing allowance amount only partially covers the cost of housing. Like APL, it is also installed according to several criteria (rent, income, number of people living in the house, etc.). It is impossible to combine APL assistance and housing allowance.
The Family Allowance Funds also pay for moving to a new home if:
1) You are waiting for the birth of your third child;
2) You have at least 3 children, under 2 years old.
You must have other conditions to receive this bonus.
How can I get the benefits?
To receive the CAF allowance, you must register personally. Depending on the allowance, you must provide the requested documents.
